Australia v Sri Lanka, CB Series: Sri Lanka Win The Match By 8 Wickets

A full match highlights video of Australia vs Sri Lanka CB Series clash played at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.
Sri Lanka thrashed Australia by eight wickets to register their first win in the tri-series.

Chasing 152 to win, Sri Lanka reached 152 for two in 24.1 overs, registering an emphatic win with 16.5 overs to spare.
Skipper Mahela Jayawardene played a fine innings of 61 not out off 67 balls, which included five boundaries.

He added 74 runs for the first wicket with Tillakaratne Dilshan to further strengthen his side's position in the match, after they bowled out Australia for 158.

Dilshan looked in his elements cracking four boundaries and a six for his 45 off 41 balls. He fell to Clint McKay.

Kumar Sangakkara, who came down to bat at No. 3, scored 30 runs and meanwhile completed his 10,000-run in one-day cricket.
Earlier, Sri Lanka stifled Australia with a disciplined bowling and fielding display as the home side were shot out for a modest 158 in a rain-curtailed cricket triangular series match on Friday.

Electing to bat, the Australians failed to stitch any substantial partnership in the face of tight bowling by the Sri Lankans at the SCG in the match reduced to 41-overs-a-side after rain interrupted play at the end of the 26th over.
But for the 49-run stand between David Hussey (58) and number 10 Mitchell Starc (17 not out) for the ninth wicket, the highest stand in the Australians innings, the total would have been much lower.

David Hussey and Starc batted sensibly for eight overs to give some respectability to the Australian innings after their top-order came a cropper to be reduced to 88 for six at the rain interruption.

Brief Scores: Australia 158 all-out in 40.5 overs (David Hussey 58; Farveez Maharoof 2 for 18, Thisara Perera 2 for 29) lost to Sri Lanka 152 for 2 in 24.1 overs (Mahela Jayawardene 61, Tillakaratne Dilshan 45, Kumar Sangakkara 30; Clint McKay 1 for 23) by 8 wickets.

Man of the Match: Thisara Perera
