ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 opening ceremony @ 8.00 pm

“The much awaited ICC Cricket World 2011 is set to kickstart with the opening ceremony at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Thursday.”

All the preparations are completed and the opening match of the Cricket World Cup 2011 will be played between India and Bangladesh on February 19.
 
A gala opening ceremony has been planned for the Cricket World Cup 2011. Several stars from the East and West countries will perform in the glittering ceremony.

Bollywood star Salman Khan, Canadian pop singer Bryan Adams, Indian music composers and singer Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Bangladeshi stars are set to enthrall the audience.


Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have composed the theme song of World Cup 2011 “De Ghumake”.

The opening ceremony will start at 8.00 pm. The Bangladesh Government has declared public holiday on Thursday to make the opening ceremony memorable one. Government offices, school and colleges are closed in Bangladesh on February 17.

Bangladesh is the co-host of ICC Cricket World along with India and Sri Lanka. This is the first time when Bangladesh is hosting World Cup.

Meanwhile, Team India has left for Bangladesh from Chennai Airport to attend the opening ceremony and play the inaugural match. According to the report, Indian batsman Suresh Raina missed the team bus as he woke up late in the morning. Later, he boarded a cab to join the team at Chennai airport.
