Team India arrives in Dhaka to start World Cup 2011 campaign

“Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led 15-member Team India arrived at Dhaka airport on Thursday to take part in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.”

Team India departed for Dhaka on Thursday morning from Chennai airport. Team India will attend the glittering World Cup Opening ceremony at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday evening.

India and Bangladesh will play the opening match of quadrennial extravaganza on February 19.
The confident level of the Team India is at its peak after thrashing Australia and New Zealand in the World Cup warm-up games convincingly.

On the other hand, the host Bangladesh will try to repeat the miracle of 2007 World Cup, when they ousted ‘Men in Blue’ in the league stage.

After four years, Bangladesh team has improved a lot and they recently thrashed New Zealand 4-0 in the ODI series.

Shakib-al-Hassan-led Bangladesh can not be taken lightly as they will have advantage of playing under home conditions.

However, statistics clearly says that India has clear edge over Bangladesh. Both have played 23 matches in the past, in which India won 20 occasions while Bangladesh managed to win just two ODIs. One ODI was abandoned. The winning percentage of India against Bangladesh is 90.9 percent.

No one can predict the result in an ODI game but full entertainment is guaranteed when two Asian teams clash at the World Cup on Saturday.
